About
I’m a second year graduate student in the Clinical-Counseling Psychology program at Illinois State University where I’m studying the areas of assessment, counseling, and psychotherapeutic treatment. I am also a graduate clinician at Chestnut Health Systems in the adult residential and intensive outpatient addictions treatment programs. I have been fortunate to participate in variety of mentoring roles both in my undergraduate and graduate careers. Mentoring is central to my vocational identity, and I hope to continue this endeavor in my graduate and postgraduate career. My current research focuses broadly on access to meaningful academic and work experiences in the face of barriers such as chronic illness/pain, disability, bereavement, addiction, trauma, or low SES. My masters thesis examines work volition in students with chronic mental and physical illnesses. My primary areas of inquiry are vocational, positive, and health psychology, and I look forward to exploring these interests further. I am currently applying for Counseling Psychology PhD programs to begin in Fall 2016.
