Lauren (Vanderlist) Petroff

I am the owner and sole provider of occupational therapy services with Bright Connections Occupational Therapy. Bright Connections Occupational Therapy is currently focused on offering the PLAY Project intervention for young children with autism spectrum disorder. I am a licensed pediatric occupational therapist with many years of experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Through the PLAY Project I am able to combine the experience and skill of an occupational therapist with the passion of a certified PLAY Project consultant. Evidence has shown that participation in PLAY Project intervention produces significant outcomes for both children with autism and their caregivers. Improvements in language, behavior, social skills and autism severity are among the many positive outcomes. Sessions take place in family homes, allowing services to be provided throughout southeast Michigan.

· Completion of initial intake for new clients. · Maintenance of therapist caseloads. · Completion of therapist annual reviews. · Provision of orientation and mentorship. · Organization and management of equipment, materials and clinic needs. · Coordination of volunteers and student fieldwork. · Presentation and discussion of services with local pediatrician offices.

- Evaluation and treatment of children birth-13 years of age with diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Brachial Plexus Injury, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder/Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Fragile X, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Hypotonia, Hypertonia, Hemiplegia, Sensory Processing Disorder, Deficiency of Upper Extremity, Anxiety and Developmental Delay. - Development of client-centered goals in collaboration with parents and caregivers. - Communication with doctors, teachers, and other clinicians to ensure continuity of care. - Co-leader of OT/ST preschool prep group for children between 2 and 4 years of age. - Provision of occupational therapy screenings at elementary school. - Provision of home and community based services through Illinois Early Intervention program. · Collaboration with multi-disciplinary team for creation of Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and associated functional outcomes. · Certified Initial Evaluator for Illinois Early Intervention program. 

- Evaluation and treatment of children 2-15 years of age with various diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder/Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Hypotonia, Hypertonia, Hemiplegia, Sensory Processing Disorder, Deficiency of Upper Extremity, Anxiety and Developmental Delay. - Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team including: occupational therapists, physical therapists, board certified behavior analysts (BCBA), social workers, nutritionist, and neuropsychologists. - Communication and collaboration with parents, doctors and school personnel to ensure continuity of care. - Provision of occupational therapy screenings at community day care centers and elementary schools. - Provision of in-service presentations to staff and the community.
