I write articles for the news division.

I write news articles on a weekly basis. This entails finding stories, news gathering, writing, editing and recording my stories to go on the air as well as prepare the articles for the web.

I am in charge of the news staff for Utah State University's Student Media team. This entails holding a weekly staff meeting where stories are assigned to reporters, copy editing stories, hiring reporters, resolving conflict on the staff, providing trainings on news writing skills and digital media programs, designing the news page on a weekly basis using InDesign, and growing and cultivating the news staff.

I have a group of cohorts that I meet with individually on a monthly basis and as a group on a monthly basis. During one-on-one meetings with cohorts I would offer advice to them, show them tools to help them succeed in school, supply them with tools to resolve personal conflict, check in on their mental health and provide direction to resources if neccesary, make sure their well-being is accounted for. For group cohort meetings, an activity and lesson would be planned out months in advance that would focus on helping cohorts succeed in all aspects of their college career. In addition, weekly forms are completed to keep track of a cohort's progress.
