Laura Zieth

As commercial manager, I manage the key growth initiatives for the SET business in Australia and New Zealand, which spans Surgical, Distal Extremities, Sports Medicine, and Trauma. This includes business development, market expansion strategies and broad channel management across stocking tribulation contracts, agency and direct sales. My key priorities are creating intra- and inter- company efficiencies, advocating for ANZ orthopaedic market access and expansion and driving sustainable and adaptable strategies in Zimmer Biomet’s fastest growing segments.

I support the commercial alignment between our principal company and national distributor across Australia and New Zealand. This involves providing upstream product management for Surgical and Sports Medicine portfolios, managing end-to-end workflows intercompany and aligning stakeholders across all aspects of our business to drive above market growth. Part of my role also leads Zimmer Biomet’s direct sales team as Product Manager, providing operational technical support for a boutique portfolio around the Continuum of Care from early osteoarthritis management to revision arthroplasty.

As co-lead for Zimmer Biomet’s inaugural year of WIN, an employee ERG focusing on gender equity and an ally to a broad range of DEI initiatives, I was responsible for initiating and project managing the group’s activity and reporting to the executive sponsors. We also contributed to the respective APAC and global chapters of similar ERG groups.

Leading two sales associates and two sales support representatives, our small team successfully grew the hip and knee implant sales consistently above plan, including expanding our business into biologics, diagnostics, sports medicine and robotics. I also played a key role in facilitating Zimmer Biomet’s internal education program for the recon business.

Working with a small team, I successfully grew hip and knee arthroplasty sales across a network of 7 hospitals in Brisbane’s West including The Wesley, Mater Springfield, Ipswich and Toowoomba. Our plan number was exceeded each year and grew to an $8M territory.

As the rep for Queensland, I achieved double digit growth v PY and consistently exceeded Plan for Zimmer Surgical, Trauma and Extremities products for Queensland.

I provided clinical support for Zimmer’s key portfolios Hip, Knee, Spine, Trauma, Shoulder, Elbow and Surgical through case coverage and hospital in-servicing across Queensland. I also had a leadership role in the design and implementation of Zimmer’s internal training program.

Coordination of patients and device based research on private patients undergoing spine surgery. Post-operative patient evaluation leading to collation and analysation of data for publication.

Coordination of Quality Control Program for Biochemistry and Endorcrinology Departments, both internal and across other patholaboratories. Conducting Specialised Endocrinological & C-14 assays.
