After leaving High School I travelled around the world, volunteering and working as a chef, before returning to New Zealand in 2007 to begin University. I completed a Bachelor in Communication Studies at AUT and headed overseas again, this time to India and Southeast Asia. I returned to New Zealand in 2012 and moved to Wellington, where I gained a National Diploma in Multimedia Journalism from Whitireia Polytechnic, graduating top of my class. After a brief stint at Kapi Mana News, I secured a position as Assignments Editor at (then) 3 News. I worked there full-time until the end of 2016, covering stories including the Kaikoura earthquake, TPP negotiations, Prince Harry’s visit and Mark Lundy’s murder retrial. In 2017 I returned to university, and completed a Graduate Diploma in International Relations from Victoria University. I am currently studying towards my Masters in International Relations, while working at Newshub as a freelance reporter.
