Larry Persaud
Chief Technology Officer (CTO) | Global Products | Data & AI Platforms @ Expeditors
About
Over the past 20 years, I’ve built my career around one central idea: technology only creates real value when it’s tied directly to business outcomes. I’ve led large-scale transformations at Microsoft, Intuit, and Expeditors International —helping global enterprises adopt cloud platforms, embrace AI, and modernize their most critical systems in ways that fuel growth and resilience. I’ve been fortunate to work on programs that shaped industries. At Microsoft, I worked side by side with APAC executives to help Fortune 10 companies adopt cloud at scale. Those efforts unlocked billions in new opportunities while easing leadership concerns about compliance, scalability, and risk. At Expeditors, I secured funding and sponsorship to update legacy and monolithic systems, delivering a 30% cost reduction and embedding a new culture of software engineering, enterprise architecture, agility, and secure development. At Intuit, I helped reimagine the fintech experience by weaving together QuickBooks, payments, and credit into a single platform that put the company head-to-head with Shopify and Etsy. What drives me isn’t just the scale of these programs, but the mix of strategy and engineering discipline it takes to make them succeed. I’ve learned how to turn complex requirements into architectures that are robust, elegant, and practical—whether that’s creating SaaS marketplaces for millions of users, deploying AI-driven logistics systems, or refining data pipelines that accelerate insight. I enjoy working at the intersection of technology and business strategy, where investment decisions, product vision, and architecture come together. If you’re building for scale, modernizing legacy systems, or looking for a leader who can bridge technical depth with executive priorities, I’d be glad to connect at larrypersaud@gmail.com. Chief Technology Officer (CTO) | Global Products | Data & AI Platforms
Bellevue, Washington, United States
In this position, I led the modernization of legacy global systems across a 70+ branch logistics enterprise. This meant building a high-performing technology team, driving upskilling in cloud-native practices, and setting the long-term roadmap that guided the company’s transformation. I managed a multi-million-dollar IT budget with a focus on efficiency and accountability. By introducing structured approval workflows and negotiating directly with vendors alongside business and executive stakeholders. I secured major discounts and optimized how resources were invested in cloud-first initiatives. A big part of my impact came from developing people. I mentored staff through structured performance reviews, robust training programs, and proactive certification paths—helping multiple team members earn promotions and grow into leadership roles. Collaboration extended outside the company as well. I forged new vendor alliances across ocean, air cargo, cartage freight, and customs brokerage, embedding technology to pave paths for AI into mission-critical processes and consolidating nine legacy systems into a single unified platform—an achievement recognized by both the former CEO, CIO, and the Board of Directors. I also laid the foundation for AI adoption within the business by leading projects in document recognition, translation, and speech-to-text. These early initiatives set the stage for a broader machine learning roadmap and positioned the company to take advantage of emerging capabilities. Vice President (VP) & Technical Fellow | Digital Transformation & AI Strategy
San Jose, California, United States
Here, I accelerated product delivery by reshaping how cloud services were deployed. By moving to a cloud-first managed services model and strengthening distributed capabilities for order management, catalog, and inventory, I cut time-to-market from nine months to just three—even during the height of COVID-19 disruptions. I also drove one of the company’s largest cloud optimization efforts. By redesigning engineering consumption models and enforcing demand-based best practices, I reduced AWS spend by $100M while sustaining development velocity and ensuring ROI across major projects. Looking ahead to fintech innovation, I guided Intuit’s cryptocurrency strategy. I evaluated more than 30 startups, identified the top five acquisition targets, and advised senior leadership on how digital currency adoption could integrate with the existing fintech portfolio.
