The Quality/Patient Safety Coach role builds organizational capacity in performance improvement focusing on preventable harm measures and education focusing on error prevention techniques. This role serves as a quality safety leader, consultant, mentor, and change agent in the advancement of clinical care at the bedside within the critical care areas. In collaboration with unit based leadership, this role focuses on implementing standard prevention bundles and monitoring performance that addresses and promotes system solutions for patient safety and family centered care.

Delivered professional nursing care, including all aspects of practice. Planned, delegated to, and organized nursing personnel. Managed and coordinated information between patient, family and healthcare team members; provided for education of patient's families and staff and evaluated outcomes. Served as a charge nurse. Oriented new staff RN's. Served as a preceptor for nursing students during their capstone clinical rotation.

Preformed head-to-toe assessments. Provided Anodyne Therapy. Administered IV Therapy and preformed lab draws. Managed Central Lines. Provided INR/Coumadin Therapy Management. Provided wound-care management and assisted with Wound-Vac changes and therapy. Trained in Lymphedema Massage. Educated clients, caregivers and family. Coordinated with Healthcare Professionals including: physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and aides.

Collaborate with the Clinical Education Specialists to ensure staff competencies in all units within floating profile. Support new hires and new graduate employees through orientation and on-going. Collaborate with patient care leadership on all units to ensure optimal staffing organizationally.

Collaborate with the nurse manager to lead improvement of unit-based operati ons on all shifts. Responsible for the development and. implementation of systems and processes to best support work flow on the unit. Collaborate with staff to support the patient and family experience. Promote clinical quality and safety standards. Responsible for ensuring optimal staffing. Serve as a mentor, coach, and role model to aide staff development.
