Identify and implement cost saving process improvements. Update and maintain the intimate food contact with packaging certifications. Conduct surveys of process water usage, in order to minimize the amount of fresh water required by reducing fresh water usage or replacing fresh water with recycled process water. Monitor and calibrate online test equipment. Perform root cause analysis on systems to increase operability. Ensure paper tests are performed correctly and equipment is routinely calibrated. Accept orders and communicate with clients to insure the material they are ordering adequately meets their specifications. Investigate customer complaints, including researching operating conditions and retesting samples. Mange and report on environmental compliance to local, state, and federal regulators. Monitor and test boiler feed water with a Hach 920 colorimetric meter. Maintain and review the Hazardous Communication documentation. Train salary and hourly employees on Confined Spaces, Hazardous Communications Program, Environmental Regulations, and Health and Safety.

Troubleshoot process problems and quality control issues. Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and preparing equipment for maintenance. In charge of the Kamyr’s biannual acid wash. Responsible for validating group energy control procedures and confined space entry permits for the annual maintenance work. Train production workers on new computer systems and programs such as the Schott Automatic Titrator. Interface with Engineering for process changes and upgrades.

Duties: Assemble lab kits. Maintain the IEEE electronic parts inventory. Organizing and tracking fundraising activities. Managing the stores finances, including preparing and reporting quarterly taxes, restocking food inventory, and arranging accommodations for monthly technical presentations. Arrange monthly technical presentations from professors, professional engineers, and researchers.

Duties: Develop economic analyses for proposed process changes. Perform root cause analysis on chemical delivery system problems and propose temporary and permanent solutions. Maintain and update Schott Automatic Conductivity Titrator for testing residual alkali in black liquor. Measure fluid flows with a GE or Fuji sonic flow meters. Propose, manage, and quantify chemical trials. Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) for new lab tests. Review and propose changes to task hazard analyses (THA). Perform material and energy balances on processes to determine efficiency and areas for improvement. Provide management and production clearly written documentation of methods, findings, and recommendations for investigated issues.
