Kyla Delorey

As a First Nations woman and a registered Social Worker in Alberta since 2011, I bring over 23 years of experience supporting diverse, vulnerable, and marginalized populations, with a primary focus in mental health, addictions, and child intervention. Throughout my career, I have held progressive leadership roles that bridge clinical practice and operational management. I have over 15 years of experience leading teams as Program Supervisor with the Government of Alberta, Clinical Supervisor with Alberta Health Services, a supervisor with first nations community, and currently as a Northeast Manager with CASA Mental Health Classroom for Children. Throughout my various leadership roles, I have overseen Mental Health and Addictions services, Crisis Response Teams, Diversion programs, Family Violence initiatives, Opioid Dependency programs, and rural outreach teams. I also served First Nations communities in leadership positions with the Athabasca Tribal Council, developing programs tailored to local needs and fostering strong community partnerships. In my current regional role, I supervise hybrid teams across multiple northern communities, including Fort McMurray, Cold Lake, Bonnyville, Slave Lake,. Previous to this role my Regional leadership extended to other Northern communities such as Elizabeth Settlement, St. Paul, and Bonnyville. My leadership has built strong collaborations across Government of Alberta, Public and Catholic school boards, Alberta Health Services, and community mental health programs. I am deeply committed to creating inclusive workplaces where engaged employees thrive and deliver exceptional outcomes. I hold a Master’s in Social Work (Memorial University), a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Studies in Addictions (University of Lethbridge), a Bachelor of Social Work with an Aboriginal focus (University of Manitoba), a Diploma in Addictions Counseling, and a BA in Sociology with a Certificate in Criminology. This extensive educational foundation complements my clinical expertise and informs my operational decision-making, program development, and policy implementation.
