In collaboration with the CHRO, manages, tracks, and coordinates organizational responses to whistleblower and related complaints, submitted directly or through a third-party mechanism. Manages litigation, administrative actions, subpoenas, and other claims or legal investigations when they arise, including coordinating with outside counsel and/or insurance providers regarding same. Provides legal and compliance oversight on internal and external audits Oversees insurance coverage, managing liability insurance policies, liaising with brokers and vendors, managing renewals and audits, and tracking claims. Work with division heads to create audit tools, data dashboards, and audit reporting tools to share across various stakeholders. Oversees development and distribution of, and engagement around, staff trainings (both legal and programmatic compliance)

Deputy General Counsel
Counsels agency executives and management team on all legal matters, including but not limited to, laws and regulations pertaining to operational compliance for transitional housing and permanent supportive housing programs, privacy and confidentiality, employee and labor relations, and real estate matters. Oversees litigation matters, including managing carrier coverage and assignment of external counsel to defend CUCS. Advises agency executives and program management on government procurement and other contract matters, as well as reviews and drafts contract actions. Collaborates and strategizes with department heads to formulate and implement best practices, including but not limited to, privacy and non-disclosure, cybersecurity, and human resources. Develops and conducts trainings and guidance in coordination with CUCS’s Human Resources and Program Departments. Conducts investigations into employee misconduct matters.
