SFL Rudrapur unit was a new project & I was heading Design & Development activities along with Tooling Management & Vendor Development activities. As a core team member I worked from starting of project to till establishment & Continuously exceeded the departmental stretch targets, developed 25 % more parts than target & in tooling management & Vendor development also achieved 20% cost reduction than target. Team building, managing tool room & vendor development activities in remote area was major challenge. Accomplishments Reduced the tool consumption cost 15% by continuous improvement & failure analysis. Pivotal in achieving savings of above Rs. 20 Lakhs per annum by Kaizen & cost saving activities, Efficiently identified & developed new vendors for sub contract activities & developed parts with 20% less cost.

* Spearheaded efforts across handled entire spectrum of functions pertaining to production & thereby ensured strict adherence to the time schedule, quality standards and productivity. * Prepared/Modified SOP's & WI for production operations, monthly production reports, their comparison & gap analysis. * Streamlined new process concepts for optimization, yield improvement and adopted new cost reduction techniques.

* Headed Engineering Design & Development Deptt. of Export Units of LPS which includes department objectives, Leading CFT for APQP activities, Quality Improvement & cost reduction projects, Customer interaction to resolve all technical issues, Techno commercial Feasibility study, Technical support for Business Development, Costing, Trainings, Team Building, Technical support for Operation Excellence, Customer Complaints etc. * Accomplishments * FTA improved from 90% to 98%, implemented detailed process check sheets with process control standards. * Pivotal in achieving savings of above Rs. 20 Lakhs by Kaizen & cost saving activities, * Cost savings more than 7 lakhs, by process optimization of Seven Parts, from machining route to near to finish forge. * Cost saving of 15 lakhs P.A by technology up gradation, cycle time reduction, improved tool life & better quality. * Attained 30 % growth, played key role in developing 25 % more parts than target.

* Headed entire design & development project management from client interaction, product design preparation, feasibility studies, manufacturing process identification, resource planning, process modification, quality management, plant functional operation, cost controlling till final customer approval, ECN control & implementation, system documentation, etc. * Achievements:- * Successfully increased 20% of new part development. * Demonstrated excellence in promoting utilization of value engineering activities by using process & tool modifications, cost savings around 4 lacs P.A * Started & developed new components for Engines & Four Wheeler/Car segment. * First Time Acceptance of new development parts improved from 90% to 98%. * Lot of Improvements done in tool room * In planning, system, inventory, 5S, Cost savings more than 5 Lakhs per annum. * PARTS DEVELOPED FOR/KEY CUSTOMERS: * Bajaj Auto Ltd, Fiat, Piaggio, Knorr-bremse, Mahindra & Mahindra

* Headed group Quality Assurance & MR function with overall responsibility of all activities of QA & Systems of all four plants which includes monitoring and review Quality Department performance & ensure adherence of QMS, Initiate the Quality Improvement Projects, MRM, Customer & Internal PPM, In Process, Final & Supplier Quality, Gap Analysis, Trainings (on PFMEA, SPC, APQP, COPQ, PPAP, QMS, Lean Management etc), Audits, Team Building, All standard room activities, Kaizens, Visual Controls, Waste Controls etc. * Accomplishments * Reduction in Customer PPM from Avg 7650 PPM to below 1000 PPM as per target. * 35% Reduction in internal rejection cost by identifying & plugging gaps, improving analysis & review system, strengthening & motivating team etc. * Established QMS activities in two new projects as per TS 16949 & customer specific requirements * Improved quality conscious/continual improvement culture, improved focus on training's, RCA, Team Development etc.
