Technical leader with 20+ years of experience in leading distributed teams spread across multiple geographies(US, UK, Europe, Indonesia, Singapore & India). Diverse experience working with high-value start-ups like MediBuddy, Gojek and Snapdeal (Indian eCommerce unicorn) and big investment banks like Deutsche Bank and RBS. I have played various Tech Leadership roles at different organisations with the aim of scaling engineering teams. I am particularly interested in addressing geographic barriers within tech teams. I have explored techniques in this area, detailed in the paper "Enabling Testing, Design and Refactoring Practices in Remote Locations" (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/5954449). My work centers on scaling business solutions through technology, with specific emphasis on: 1. Minimizing implementation complexity relative to problem complexity using XP techniques like TDD and fast feedback. 2. Designing highly composable software, often leveraging functional programming paradigms. 3. Implementing techniques on making software changes simple and easy to reason out. Currently leading Product & Engineering for MediBuddy. At Gojek I was leading the Engineering for Marketplace, Logistics & Data Science platform. This forms the core engine of Gojek, Southeast Asia's super app. At Deutsche Bank, I was a distinguished engineer and played multiple leadership roles, including the regional Head of Payments Technology India. I worked with Snapdeal as the Director of Engineering capacity and led the development of the seller platform. At RBS, I was a distinguished engineer and India engineering lead for the development of ODC (Operational Data Cache) - ODC is a highly distributed in-memory, Normalised data store designed for scalable data access and processing.

Interesting problem statement about automating a construction domain DWG files creation. Most important bit was we had a user base in that company and they were ready to fund us . Worked for a new product Ayaam in 3D space where we wanted to automate the creation of basic Rebar drawings.Decided to use Java graphics i.e A java based scengraph (Xith3d ) on top of JOGL . Learned first hand , How difficult it is to choose a technology stack and to stick with it for a considerable part of project life-cycle and how important to have a way out i.e be able to replace one without rewriting everything. But it was fun and working on 3D Maths - Splines,Breps , Nurbs and coding them was real fun. From 2 we grew to 12 with a full testing team etc so very good experience in setting a new project/product.
