As an Assistant House Parent, my duty was to prepare a hospitable environment for international students. It required introducing and warmly welcoming the students to their boarding houses. Also, it involved supervision and maintaining a register. This experience has pruned my confidence in approaching individuals and initiating effective communication. As a Course Assistant, I was required to work with the Exsportise team to execute engaging evening activities for international students. This comprised anything ranging from group-based icebreakers to individual-tailored activities. This experience has honed my teamwork, communication, listening and leadership skills, which I can confidently apply to complementary tasks.

As a Tennis Coach Assistant at an English Summer School programme hosted at Oundle School, I worked alongside a Tennis Coach and a diverse staff team. This experience offered me the opportunity to work with highly qualified tennis coaches as well as teach and coach international students performance based tennis. This endeavor has significantly enhanced numerous facets of my aptitude, notably in communication, active listening, organisation, multitasking, and time management. I adeptly showcased proficient communication skills during staff meetings, adeptly exchanging insights and coaching strategies with tennis coaches and engaging in meaningful communication with international students. My commitment to active listening was evident in attentively absorbing advice from coaches and addressing inquiries from students with diligence. Employing effective management tactics, I adeptly organized diverse groups of children, including assistant coaches, and efficiently oversaw equipment clearance and guided students back to their boarding houses. Overall, this experience has honed my ability to work in a fast-paced environment which has equipped me with the necessity to adapt and adjust when working in unfamiliar environments.

As an Undergraduate Psychology Student, working alongside the Respiratory and Non-Embedded Specialties Team, my duties include: • Creating resources (e.g. posters, leaflets, certificates, books) • Literature searches and reviews • Adding new referrals to database and creating a contact sheet • Printing off & preparing resources (questionnaires, tasks to do etc.) • Facilitating running groups (e.g. running the icebreaker) • Observing Psychology sessions • Service data for team meetings • Calling up patients (reminding, confirming, booking appointments) • Attending MDT meetings • Finding information for further support for patients • Taking minutes in meetings/sessions • Attending training days/talks • Answering the phones and following up calls in an appropriate manner e.g. forwarding information to the right person • Observing clinics with medical teams • Keeping databases up to date

As a Level 1 Tennis Coach Assistant at Northampton Lawn Tennis Club (NLTC), I have worked alongside excellent Head Tennis Coaches and have led one-to-one and group tennis sessions for children ranging 5-15 years of age. My three years of tennis coaching experience included Summer, Easter and Christmas camps where I acquired additional roles such as: supervision, leading multi-sports and preparing lunch meals. My experience as a Tennis Coach Assistant at NLTC has honed my communication, active listening, leadership, creativity, organisation and time-management abilities. Executing effective communication was demonstrated through delivering outstanding tennis sessions planned by myself to small groups of children. I actively listened to my tennis coaches as well as the children I encountered, paying attention to their needs before my own. I was creative in delivering enjoyable tennis exercises as well as adjusting my tennis plan. My organisational skills and time management played a part as I arrived early to prepare activities upon arrival of the children. Overall, this experience has matured my character and skills and has equipped me to work in diverse environments as well as with diverse individuals from different backgrounds and age categories.
