About

I love finding the facts about climate change policy--what works and why--to help decision-makers in the Pacific Northwest pursue policies that will help transform the region to a thriving clean energy economy. I love finding clear, concise, and novel ways to explain complex concepts so that readers and audience members say "Oh, now I get it!" I love thinking beyond the immediate horizon of possibility to how we can create a more just, efficient, and flourishing society. I graduated from Stanford University with Honors in Environmental Science and Technology Policy, from Duke School of Law cum laude, and from Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment with an emphasis in energy economics and policy. In addition to working at PG&E, two private law firms, and running NRDC's Western Climate Projects, I have also had the pleasure of teaching Climate Change Law at Stanford School of Law, and Energy Law at UCLA Law School.

Successfully advocated to double the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s energy efficiency budget and to implement a first-of-its-kind decoupling policy. As part of this advocacy, I worked closely with LADWP Board and staff, LA City Council, and other advocacy groups. I designed a 90-second video explaining the benefits of energy efficiency to a lay audience to help build support for the program. Led NRDC’s efforts to successfully implement AB 32 - California's economy-wide climate change bill - through outreach and communication with key California decision-makers (including legislators, California Air Resources Board members, California Public Utilities Commissioners, and California Energy Commissioners), collaboration with other stakeholders (including utilities, petroleum industry, businesses, other environmental groups, consumer and low-income advocate stakeholders), and coordination of NRDC staff. Led NRDC’s advocacy efforts to design a successful cap-and-trade program in California and the West.
