Our Insights Programme helps Widening Participation students develop the confidence, skills and connections to consider a range of careers through introductions to Edinburgh alumni working in an exciting range of sectors and environments.

Led the development of the University of Edinburgh core Student Ambassador scheme to manage student contribution to marketing, student recruitment and widening participation, from early engagement through to new student induction, in both digital and face-to-face activity.

The main purpose of my post is to raise the profile of the University of Edinburgh across key European Union (EU) markets, building relationships with a variety of stakeholders and undertaking professional recruitment activity designed to increase the number of well qualified applicants and entrants in order to meet the institution’s strategic recruitment objectives. My regional focus is the EU, while supporting postgraduate recruitment activities in the UK. Activities include market research; contribution to strategy formation within designated EU countries; and recruitment and development trips and associated follow-up activity.

Lead, innovate and collaborate to develop enhanced pre-arrival and induction support, enabling our diverse student population to successfully transition to university life and study.

The Residence Life team are responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive living environment for their residents. Our role is to assist residents in the transition from home to University and to provide social, sporting & academic opportunities to meet others and form friendship groups. We also manage a large residential team (Wardens and Resident Assistants) who assist residents experiencing difficulties and sign post to other areas of support. The Senior Residence Life Co-ordinator will assist the Assistant Director (Residence Life) to ensure that the Residence Life team is professionally and efficiently managed so that they can deliver a comprehensive Residence Life service to all of our student residents that is innovative, sector leading and enhances the student experience. As a Residence Life Coordinator I developed, monitored and reviewed Residence Life policies and procedures to ensure the team are working within agreed policies and guidelines, offer guidance and support to the Wardens and Resident Assistants in the delivery of their key responsibilities and ensure that our student residents receive a range of programmes designed to promote community, well-being and academic excellence as well as enhancing the student experience. I was also responsible for the Recruitment and Training of 100+ Resident Assistants (student staff members) and for developing the programming model. Being successful in this post requires enthusiastic with excellent communication, leadership and people management skills.
