Continually monitored supplier performance and served as the escalation point for supplier non-conformances. -Achieved 7% year over year cost savings on an annual spend of $38 million. -Developed cost models to be used by program buyers when evaluating engineering changes to protect against price creep. Program Purchasing -Managed competitive quoting activity, price and timing negotiations and supplier selection for multiple customer programs. -Successfully managed engineering changes prior to and following SOP, controlling cost and ensuring timely implementation. -Worked closely with engineering and program management in order to assure that customer needs/requirements were communicated and met by supply base. Cost Reduction VA/VE Purchasing -Initiated and led a cross-functional steering committee focused on identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities in all areas of business. -Drove and managed implementation of individual cost savings by developing detailed action items lists and timelines, leading cross functional review meetings and negotiating with suppliers. International Purchasing -Led a team to identify, evaluate and source suppliers for start-up facility in Thailand. Purchasing Process Improvement Specialist -Led and supported continuous improvement of departmental policies, procedures and forms. -Developed and implemented processes for new supplier qualification, tracking cost reductions and tracking program changes/costed BOM. -Developed training format for new purchasing employees.
