Assist in the Center’s communications and distribution of research to stakeholders, policymakers and other research centers. Recently developed and launched the new CCSC website at http://sustainablecommunities.environment.ucla.edu/.

Managed data set for the Energy Conservation Lab, organized meetings, coded data, and integrated results in to manuscripts. Data analysis included qualitative and binary logistic regression analysis.

I worked as a Project Manager for the California Center for Sustainable Communities at UCLA (CCSC) and the Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability (LARC). At CCSC I managed communications as well as students and volunteers. I also coordinated outreach with policymakers, other researchers, and the public. At LARC I provided oversight for a Strategic Growth Council Grant developing a framework to assess climate action and develop model ordinances in LA County.

I brought to LA County Regional Planning a dedication to science-based solutions and best practices integration. Within the Advance Planning, General Plan Development and Housing section, my efforts focused primarily on sustainability and climate change planning. I was a member of the LA County Sustainability Council, Framework Workgroup and assisted in developing an inventory of County sustainability programs and policies as well as a Framework for Countywide Sustainability. I was the project lead for a new recycling and solid waste ordinance, which will help the County implement a sustainable waste management system by streamlining land use permitting for facilities. All of the projects I worked on have a strong nexus with environmental justice and equity. I worked closely with colleagues within the Planning Department as well as other departments to integrate sustainability and equity analysis into policy and project implementation.
