Order picking and customer service.

Job description included problem-solving, communication with (foreign) visitors and helping the visitors to know the advantages and disadvantages of the services and surroundings of the village and offering sightseeing advice. Helping with enquiries and problems and translating and interpreting were tasks on a daily basis. Other activities included renting bikes, rowing boat, etc. I gained a better level of English, self-confidence and useful communication and problem-solving skills.

Job description included invoicing, handling orders, inquiries, and certificates, acquiring licenses for loads and assisting in marketing tasks. I acquired experience in international sales, steel manufacturing, steel markets, export documents, logistics and working in a team.

Part of the marketing team in a student project. I was responsible for updating the DuuniExpo blog. Other tasks included drafting and executing marketing materials, participating in marketing tours in schools in Lahti area, distribute posters around the city and helping building the fair.

My job description mainly included cleaning, receiving visitors, marketing and cashing. Organizing and coordinating timetables were also a part of my job description, I also occasionally worked on a short notice or under pressure while trying to stay on a specific schedule. Translating speech, managing customer flow, expedicting future events and managing the ”whole picture” were also a huge part of my daily work routine.

The main title was salesperson at the cash register. Daily work included customer services, cashing, storing, stocking shelves and marking prices. I learned problem solving skills while working for this company.

This was a temporary summer job, I worked as a tourist guide in the local harbour. I met different kinds of people from various countries, including Russia, Sweden, Germany and France. I had an excellent possibility to brush up my English and social skills in diverse situations. This job description included lots of problem solving, communicating without a mutual language and knowing the advantages and disadvantages of the services and surroundings of the local village. The tourist guide has been one of my favourite jobs, I enjoyed communicating in English and meeting people from different countries.

My business studies started in August 2014. The first year is the busiest; lots of compulsory courses including marketing, mathematics, customer services, English, Swedish, financial management, organization and risk management, economy, presentation skills and logistics. I started studying Russian in January 2015. During the second year there will be more mobility about choosing the courses. I will take courses which will favour my intention to specialize in marketing and international trade.
