Nikolay Kivshanov

Succeeded the founders of Melon (later Kin + Carta and Valtech) in leading Valtech Bulgaria. Responsible for client relationships, local leadership, team management and keeping our strong local culture, while aligning with Valtech's long-term vision. I'm keeping close technical involvement, providing leadership, direct management and guidance across all technical teams in Bulgaria.

Led the Mobile practice at Melon (later K+C and Valtech), building and growing the Android and iOS teams and establishing our Flutter capability. Responsible for team development, technical leadership, recruitment and delivery across our mobile teams in the SEE region. Maintained hands-on involvement in architecture and key projects, while supporting our sales team, participating in client pitches and helping company management on the company's strategy and growth. Played key role in two post-acquisition integrations across Kosovo, Macedonia and Bulgaria.

Led the iOS team, overseeing architecture, delivery, engineering standards and people management. Remained actively involved in iOS development in our key projects, while mentoring team members and supporting hiring and growth of the practice.

Started as a Junior iOS Developer and advanced to Senior iOS Developer, demonstrating growth in technical and leadership skills. Worked on a wide range of projects, from small startups to large-scale, award-winning applications with millions of users. Took ownership of the entire development lifecycle, collaborating closely with Backend, Design, QA and Management teams to ensure seamless delivery. Actively mentored junior and mid-level developers and took on project management responsibilities in several mobile-focused projects.
