The core of the business was structured around low carbon and renewable energy consultancy, completing Energy Performance Certificates and Green Deal Advice Reports. Gained accreditation in assessment and installation of electric heat pumps, solar PV and biomass boilers. Working mostly with homeowners, however also completing work for landlords, businesses and social housing providers. My business acumen strengthened by facing in to the opportunities and challenges faced in a slow growth market; Sales, Marketing, Negotiation, Leadership, Management and Communication skills experienced strong development during this time.

Leading various projects (mostly electrical power) in the Nuclear sector. All projects involved electrical design, installation and commissioning works, including civil and structural work. The LVR project was a ‘Full turnkey’ project from Project Initiation to Project Completion of the electrical infrastructure on site, including design and installation of: Fire Alarm, UPS system, Lighting Design, Emergency Lighting, Structural Design, Cable Diversion works, Cable Design, 11kV Substation works and redesign of the Site Wide Public Address/Muster/Criticality alarm system.

I worked on multiple new build projects as an engineering consultant for building services (M+E). The role included designs of: LVAC, lighting, fire alarms, CCTV and lightning protection. The role involved interfacing with other design departments and managing sub contractors.

Responsible for the delivery of multiple SCADA projects (typically substation control and protection) for National Grid, under the ‘Smart SCS Strategy’, which involved execution of the projects under depletions requiring no outages on the network. Also a project manager for a replacement busbar protection scheme, utilising the fully digital solution. This involved the introduction of merging units, resulting in highly efficient and intelligent SCS systems. Responsible for the full lifecycle of the project, including management of both the internal project team and external sub contractors.

* I am a Primary Project Engineer within major projects working on a number of different projects. The projects include the design and build of high voltage substations for National Grid. My role involves: * Direct, lead and motivate the Project Engineering and Design Team. * Maintain customer/stakeholder relationships. * Ensuring all potential opportunities, variations and risks are identified and reported to the Project Manager as soon as possible. * Co-ordination of technical specifications production for procurement of work packages. * Management of subcontracts/suppliers’ work packages from the tendering stage, through to delivery up to handover. * Responsible for preparing monthly progress reports on the assigned work package(s) for internal and external purposes. * Use and make available to others knowledge assets and resources to optimise the proposed solution and project costs. * Assist, support & mentor less experience Project Engineers. * Commitment to Siemens TOP+ effectiveness programme (value adding initiative).
