Kirill Nadezhdin

Accomplished biomedical research scientist with >15 years of experience in protein biochemistry, structural biology, and biophysics. I am interested in applying my expertise to investigate complex biological systems, uncover underlying molecular mechanisms of action, and facilitate structure-based drug design (SBDD). Some notable achievements during my postdoctoral training include: - Designing >100 constructs for cryo-EM, successfully expressing and purifying more than 10 proteins, leading to the publication of >10 articles in top-ranked peer-reviewed journals. - Optimizing protein purification protocols resulting in reduction of over 50% in purification time and cost, while maintaining the same yield. - Successfully solving cryo-EM structures of membrane proteins in complex >15 small molecules and protein-based binding partners. - Discovering the fundamental structural mechanism through which temperature-sensitive ion channel proteins sense heat. I am enthusiastic about collaborating with highly creative individuals to design research pipelines to develop novel methods for exploring molecular mechanisms and discovering new drugs to treat age-, environment-, and genetics-related diseases. Additionally, I like using data analysis and Python coding skills to streamline time-consuming repetitive tasks, allowing more time for testing innovative ideas.
