I have become a board member on the team and I am working with them to develop and begin mental health counseling programs using the power of horses, in addition to the physical and occupational therapy programs that they already have in place. We will be training to become Equine Specialists in Mental Health in Spring of 2019 and hope to start programs in the Summer.

* Experience working with youth ages 3-21 years of age that have learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other behavioral challenges. * Skills in using empathy and reflection working with youth and families. * Experience attending IEP and 504 meetings, supporting families in the process, and working with PAVE. * Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with peers and other staff. * Proven skills working as a team player as well as independently. * Efficient in meeting required deadlines. * Perform psychological assessments with families and youth gathering the Bio/Psycho/Social background, identifying challenging behaviors, as well as assessing for mental health diagnoses. * Prepare written psychological assessments and documentation in order to provide consultation to staff regarding the behavioral challenges, strengths, and needs of youth. * Assist with small group counseling as needed to support children in developing problems solving skills and with emotional control. * Support families in being able to identify the needs behind the behaviors of the child, as well as what their strengths and limitations are. * Collaborate with team members in assigning youth to Care Coordinators and Therapists based off of the needs of the youth and families. * Collaborate with outside agencies within the community in meeting the needs of the youth and making referrals when appropriate. * Attend regular continuing education for on the job training and professional development.

* Facilitate treatment planning meetings with youth, family, and other agencies involved. * Use screening tool to regularly assess the strengths and needs of the youth. * Support families in being able to identify the needs behind the behaviors of the child, as well as what their strengths and limitations are. * Collaborate with team members in assigning youth to Care Coordinators and Therapists based off of the needs of the youth and families. * Collaborate with outside agencies within the community in meeting the needs of the youth and making referrals when appropriate. * Attend regular continuing education for on the job training and professional development.

• Review and discuss treatment plans and goals with patients • Teach Psych Ed and Recreational Therapy groups • Perform daily routines as a team with other counselors, nurses, and psychiatrists • Chart and document daily status and progress of patients • Assist in physical restraints with assaultive/combative patients • Perform admit procedures with patients • Perform discharge procedures with patients

• Perform intake and Bio/Psycho/Social Assessments with newly admitted patients • Meet with Psychiatrist to confirm patient diagnosis, medications, and get signatures • Prepare Admission Report for patient’s chart • Advocate for client’s needs within the community • Discharge planning and documentation • Arrange housing for patients • Arrange outpatient appointments for patients • Write treatment plans for patients • Chart and document daily status and progress of patients

• Assist clients in filling out protection orders • Assist clients in starting custody paperwork • Accompany clients in court proceedings • Take notes on court proceedings and follow cases • Review police reports • Community outreach • Respond to crisis clients in the county • Assess clients that are in crisis • Screen potential clients for services • Work collaboratively on safety plans with clients • Active listening and problem solving with clients • Refer clients to proper resources within the community • Coordinate services with outside agencies for clients • Case management • Organize craft therapy activities within the shelter

I have obtained my Masters Degree in Social Work, my Child Mental Health certification through the state of Washington, and I am working as an Associate Licensed Social Worker to become and LICSW.

Graduated with Advanced Standing and Cumma Sum Laude.

Degree was in General Studies, with Criminal Justice classes as well.
