Officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, followed by experience at Junior and Senior Levels through this time. I have spent time with Airborne Forces, trained recruits in their first 11 weeks in the Armed Forces, successfully completed the Ammunition Technical Officer (ATO) Course and spent 2 years with 11 EOD Regiment RLC as a Troop Commander and IEDD Operator. I toured with 321 EOD Sqn RLC between the two PIRA ceasefires before being posted to Germany for 5 years, including having the honour of commanding 921 EOD Sqn. More recently, I have taught Army Captains at Staff College and written part of the new Major's course, ICSC(L), spent 6 months in Sierra Leone as a UN military observer (including critiquing the in power Government on their ability to govern), project managed and conducted strategic planning in 4th line logistics and toured Afghanistan several times in EOD or EOD related fields.

Loaned to the US as an imbedded staff officer and as the lead of WTI Branch within the J3 Division of JIEDDO. This included serving as the Senior British Officer in the organisation and being the 3 Director’s UK EOD SME. I was running a focused team in coordination with an other Defence Agency, with the main aim of achieving coherence across the Services in the areas of Forensics and Biometrics, Information Management / Information Exchange (IM/IX), WTI support to Operations, WTI training for Operations and emerging NATO and National C-IED / WTI doctrine and policy. I coordinated the program management and justified via the JIEDDO JCAAMP process, various WTI projects amounting to over $140M in FY10 with FY09's projects totaling some $75M.
