As a medical student I hope to build on the experiences I learned as a Genetics Major at UW-Madison. I am pursuing a career in a pediatrics subspecialty, and hope to expand on my research background as I work towards a career as a physician scientist.

During my time in the O'Connor lab, my skills to be a scientist flourished. I have extensive experience with multiple deep sequencing platforms (Roche 454, Illumina MiSeq, and PacBio). My data analysis skills range from MHC allele discovery to viral genome interrogation. I have presented posters and been involved in multiple manuscript preparations, including one first author piece. I have learned the value of communication and collaboration in science and hope to utilize these skills as a physician.
