Khaled Soufi - PhD

I am honored to be the first Arab President of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). I hold dual academic qualifications in Engineering and Quality Management Systems and bring more than 25 years of experience in quality management across Egypt, Africa, China, and the Middle East. I strongly believe that quality is a strategic enabler for sustainable development, competitiveness, and economic growth, and that effective quality systems empower organizations and societies alike. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to advancing a strong quality culture through practice, policy, and education. In parallel with my professional roles, I lecture postgraduate courses, contributing to the development of future leaders in quality and excellence. My academic background includes a BSc in Engineering and an MSc in Quality Management Systems from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, a PhD in Statistical Control and Quality Assurance, and a Diploma in Laser Measurements from Cairo University. I have also served as a United Nations Expert with UNMIS and UNMISL, contributing to international missions and capacity-building initiatives. I am honored to serve as a Council Member of ARSO, AIDSMO, and SMIIC, working collaboratively to strengthen regional and international standardization systems.
