Scaled Instagram's machine learning recommendation systems platform and built new core modeling capabilities that powered the shift from connected content to recommendations on Instagram. Our mission was to deliver exceptional performance to every person, everywhere on Instagram. Measured & improved speed, performance, reliability, and media quality on the Instagram mobile apps during the pivot to short-form video, launch and growth of Reels. (Individual contributor from Apr 2019 to Jul 2021, people manager from Jul 2021 to Oct 2022)

Helped commercial asset/fleet operators (think: planes, trains, large factory equipment, rental car fleets) reduce failures and lower spend on maintenance through analytics.

Led global teams of engineers through the full lifecycle of avionic system design and development.

Enabled new capabilities and improved performance of Boeing, Airbus, and Bombardier aircraft platforms: bootloader, device drivers, domain-specific language for control law definition, various operating system / scheduler updates, avionic networking protocols and implementation

Solved campus housing and employment problems via web apps. (e.g. reporting/tracking/closing issues on campus housing, finding/hiring/evaluating students for campus jobs)

Increased velocity of engineering work through improved business/engineering systems.
