Senior Software Engineer II
Remote
Lead engineer in the 10-person AI Platform team, mentoring junior engineers and driving design and implementation of AI/ML platform capabilities. + Designed and implemented a streaming WebSocket API backed by Java/Python microservices on AWS ECS. The platform uses gRPC for internal communications and hosts in-house and 3rd-party ML capabilities to power 200K+ captioning sessions per day. + Redesigned and implemented a Python-based REST API using AWS Lambda and ECS with S3 and DynamoDB storage, delivering an ML scoring platform that handles thousands of transcript evaluation requests daily. + Led design and implementation of a real-time AI training pipeline for feeding speech-recognition models, with components written in Java and Python, including a batching service capable of processing 40K messages per second per instance. + Architected a multi-modal LLM training pipeline for real-time streaming video data written in a mix of Go and Python, using Kubernetes on EKS and MQTT-based pub/sub to distribute work across GPU workers. + Built an agentic AI platform for navigating conversation graphs using ReAct-style orchestration and RAG over previous conversations, with an orchestration agent routing traffic between specialized subagents to improve reliability. + Built deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions and Terraform Cloud, using LaunchDarkly feature flags to control rollout and availability. + Implemented automated unit and API test suites and manual load-testing flows, integrating results into TestRail to improve release confidence. + Reduced security risk by triaging and remediating findings from Sonatype and SonarQube static code analysis tools. + Served as Scrum Master and delegated Product Owner, leading Scrum ceremonies, roadmap discussions, and sizing of high-level technical objectives.

Software Engineer III
- Worked as Lead Developer on the Blue Raptor project, performing design and development of a distributed computing platform written with a mix of Java, Python, and C++ - Utilized Docker to dynamically deploy containers running a variety of Machine Learning algorithms to a cluster of NVIDIA Jetson ARM SOCs with RabbitMQ utilized for messaging - Algorithms included speech activity detection, gender identification, language identification, speaker identification, background noise detection, speech to text, machine translation, and full motion video object detection. - Fed data to RabbitMQ via a collection of plugins which communicated with different sensors and interfaces. Communication with these 3rd party systems was enumerated with the drafting of Interface Control Documents(ICDs) as new capabilities, sensors, and front-ends were integrated with the platform. - Work also included supporting the project lead, assisting in the drafting of Basis of Estimates for new phases of work as well as on-boarding new personnel to the project. - Assisted in full-stack development as well as built integration testing system for TALIS project, utilizing Jenkins and Bamboo to perform load tests and functional tests of the software. - Work included the creation of a simulator to exercise and stress the system under conditions mimicking the deployment environment. - Performed Static Code Analysis on 3rd party libraries, fixing security vulnerabilities when needed. - Worked on AIAT project, building a Web App which utilized REST interfaces to retrieve and visualize data from a MariaDB instance.
