Managing Director, National Admissions @ City Year

About

I come from a background in national service with an emphasis on outreach and recruitment. My last position was with the AmeriCorps NCCC Southern Region campus out of Vicksburg, MS. In my role as Community Relations Associate, I was responsible for outreach and recruitment for an 11-state region. I managed social media accounts and provided critical support for special events for up to 320 AmeriCorps members. Prior to that, I worked at National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD) as a Program Assistant. In that position, I was responsible for providing assistance to the Administration Manager with day-to-day operation, budgeting and file management tasks. I was also responsible for overseeing the management of expenses for our President/CEO. I also worked at the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS) as a Selection and Placement Assistant for AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC). In that position, I reviewed over 4,000 applications, produced monthly newsletters and provided customer service to internal/external partners, headquarters staff and many others. My commitment to national service comes from serving two back-to-back years as a Team Leader for AmeriCorps NCCC. During that time, I managed over 500 volunteers and provided logistics for a variety of project assignments, including supervising two teams that built five homes in New Orleans, performed flood relief services on over 30 homes in Vermont and many other achievements. I am a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I enjoy hanging out with friends and dancing. I also love to laugh. Some of my specialties include: National Service and NGO with broad experience in all aspects of supervision including: volunteer coordinator & management, verbal & written communication, social media knowledge, organization skills, team building, finance & data management and public speaking.
