Kevin Turner

A world-class business builder with experience managing large and complex organizations, B. Kevin Turner is a pillar of the retail and technology industries. His expertise lies in the building, leading, management and design of large organizations, information technology, high performance team building and strategic business growth and development. Turner began as a cashier at Walmart in 1985 while attending college; upon getting his degree, he stayed at Walmart and worked his way up -- becoming the youngest corporate officer named at Walmart at the age of 29. He later rose to the level Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Walmart Stores Inc. Subsequently, he was appointed CEO and President of Sam’s Club and Executive Vice President of Walmart Stores Inc. in 2002. In 2005, he announced his move to Microsoft. Microsoft hired Turner to improve customer satisfaction, and the overall sales and marketing execution by re-building the team and instilling more clarity, a customer focus and relentless discipline in their operations and salesforce. Most of all, he led an operation of over 51,000 employees in more than 190 countries for more than 11 years. Turner helped increase the company's yearly revenue from $37 billion to over $91 billion during his tenure, and he drove the improvement of customer satisfaction to all-time highs for the company. For his final achievement at Microsoft he was very instrumental in leading the company’s transition to the cloud. Currently, he is serving on the Board of Directors of Nordstrom since 2010 and 2017 also saw Turner signing on as Vice Chairman of the Board of Managers of AB Acquisition, the direct parent company of Albertsons & Safeway. In 2018, Turner became the President & CEO of Core Scientific Inc. A Blockchain technology company who is on the path to be the largest Blockchain and AI hosting company in the USA.
