Kevin Israel Vazquez Hernandez

As a Senior Composite Technician, I manage major structural repairs internationally, including directing teams in Brazil and overseeing all field repairs outside of Pyka headquarters. My role combines advanced hands-on expertise in hand lay-up, vacuum infusion, and prepreg with the technical operation of CNC routers, 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC hot wire machines. I focus on optimizing production by building custom jigs, fixtures, and templates while implementing process improvements to increase shop-floor efficiency. Furthermore, I maintain high standards of quality by performing rigorous inspections of incoming parts from vendors and suppliers to ensure every component meets strict engineering requirements.

Specializing in the full lifecycle of composite manufacturing, I bridge the gap between complex engineering and field execution. I lead specialized teams on global sites—including major repair operations in Brazil—to restore structural integrity to mission-critical assets. By combining hands-on expertise in infusion and wet lay-up with a background in CNC-driven tool design, I ensure that every repair and production fixture maximizes accuracy, repeatability, and lean efficiency.

Manufacture and assemble composite airplane structures using vacuum bagged wet layup processes. Trim, drill, and finish composite parts to drawing specifications. Meticulously maintain molds, tooling, fixturing and vacuum pumps. Assemble/disassemble precision fixtures/jigs to aid in bonding of airframe main structure.

Assigned project: NovaBus- Volvo Group. Engineering support and assembly at different stages of the final assembly line process. Process verification and validation according to standards.

Projects: Pyka, Honda, Jose Cuervo, Stellantis, VUHL Engineer in charge of floor support, with templates, jigs, tools, and problem-solving in the manufacturing of parts in composite materials. Responsible for the Kitting area, which provides materials such as fibers and consumables for production. Optimization of programs to maximize material savings and operational efficiency. 3D scanning and positioning of parts in composite materials using FARO Arm, reverse engineering to solve problems with the engineering design department in the company. Creation of production orders, maintenance of the general production database of the plant.
