The position of the rehab technician compliments the roles of all therapy disciplines including speech, occupational and physical therapy, providing extra repetitions of those activities determined necessary in the evaluation process. These activities involve such things as positioning, splinting/bracing, specialized feedings, range of motion and massage. Job duties also involve equipment maintenance, treatment documentation, and other projects that help to enhance and support the therapy department. Regular communication with therapy and nursing staff is a fundamental part of this position in order to enhance the overall consistency of care of the children.

Completed 400 hours of hands on clinical experience under Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapists in the Early Intervention Program

Participate and assist in recruitment and marketing for Department of Occupational Therapy under the supervision of the Graduate Admissions Coordinator Assist in research efforts addressing sensory and motor development in children with chromosomal abnormalities, including literature search, coordinating data, scoring tests and filing information Assist with compiling course materials for OT308 Concepts of Neurodevelopment under the supervision of course instructor

Performed research with children pertaining to cortisol stress levels and Music Emotion Knowledge Performed literature review; assisted in writing published article pertaining to retention of early childhood educators while assisting with data entry

* Headed front circulation desk for education based library. * Circulated books/equipment/educational resources from shelves to patrons and vice versa. * Gained organizational and clerical skills.
