* Manage the fabrication department, consisting of 130 employees with 7 direct reports, producing over 3 million pounds of aluminum product monthly. The fabrication department consists of CNC mills, saws, welding, hydraulic and mechanical punches. * Study and quote prospective profitable opportunities. * Work directly with sales to understand and share the customer’s expectations. * Purchase new capital equipment as required. * Manage over 6 million dollars in assets. * Implement process improvement thru lean manufacturing. * Facilitate cross-functional improvement teams to improve efficiencies. * Develop and customize training materials.

* Write and control technical documentation necessary for the maintenance of QS-9000 (ISO-9001), * Write and control welding procedures for all welding processes * Certify welders and welding operators to Holland Hitch of Texas welding procedures * Evaluate engineering changes needed to determine inspections required. * Develop inspection methods to be used. * Track quality, rework and scrap costs, utilizing SAP software and Microsoft Access. * Evaluate government contracts to insure company compliance with military standards regarding welding, inspection, painting, packaging and identification. * Evaluate SPC data to ensure process capability. * Conduct internal audits to assure compliance to the QS-9000 (ISO-9001) quality system. * Write and qualify welding procedures. * Qualify welders and welding operators to comply with the AWS D1.1 welding code. * Perform production part approval process (PPAP) and QS-9000 (ISO-9001), as required by customers.

Schedule production and order materials for the fabrication and/or maintenance of custom equipment for manufacturing railcar, wind towers and power poles. The central maintenance division produces approximately 25 million dollars of custom equipment annually.
