Using Cadds 5. Working on A380 aircraft wings front spar. (Parametric solid modelling).

Various types of structure and outfit work. Using AutoCad Also working on Tribon M1 setting up standard definition files and helping to set up the project etc.

Cadds 5. Worked on L.P.D modifying 3D models of the hull structure, Decks, Bulkheads, Shell etc. preparing them for outputs.

Using Tribon 5. The work involved 3D structural modelling and 2D draughting for a Van Der Giessen project, (Offshore Supply Vessel).

Cadds5 Worked on Trent 8104 Aircraft engine Modifying 3D Solid models to position Kulite Pressure transducers.

Providing Cadds5, and some Catia V4 support on Nimrod project across the various BAE sites. Recovering and correcting models that have become unusable. Handle requests for models etc to be deleted or amended in Vaults. Writing software to assist in all areas of personal daily activities eg csh sql scripts to query vaults, to read, get, process, replace parts from vaults. To pass models automatically through various conversion methods into formats required by outside contract firms. Worked closely with Theorem as they wrote software to convert, check and write reports on conversions of Cadds5 data into Catia v4 to migrate Nimrod Cadds5 data into Catia. Wrote csh scripts to process and write reports of models etc being passed through Theorem and migrated to Catia v4. Assisting with setting up a single Optegra Vault to archive all the Cadds, Catia data currently stored on old existing Vaults and ensuring the Cadds to Catia migration process is set up for the new environment.

* Providing support for Cadds5 Designers on Unix workstations and Stress Engineers on PC'c * Setting up and maintaining Icad, Use of Crontab to run various scripts. * Building Windows 2000 Professional network system (Integrated with Unix workstations). Running 12 PC's, 30 Unix workstations plus various servers. * Set-up and control ISA Firewall, VPOP3 Mail server, Dell Powervault NAS Management (300 GB Network Active Storage device), UPS power back-up. * LTO Tape backups and restore. Monitoring backup schedules, correcting any backup failures. Building and restoring servers. Configuring servers for different uses. * Building workstations and PC's to required standards, adding memory, graphics cards, changing disc drives, fans etc. Loading operating systems and software etc

Responsible for all aspects of System Administration, Workstations, PC's all networking etc and also producing Cad models / outputs. In addition to System Administration I was also responsible for on-site system training for Cadds 5, Tribon 5 and Solaris / Unix.. Since it was only a small office the I.T. work took up about 15-20% of the time. The remaining time was spent updating the Structural Cad models and producing outputs.

L.P.D hull structure team. Responsibilities were biased towards I.T. developing various CSH scripts, Cvmacs, and Cadd customisations. I also assisted the I.T. department to create more complex programs for certain specific tasks. In addition to helping members of our team I also provided telephone support for our remote site in Scotland, as well as doing the Cad modelling work. Also worked on L.P.H. Hull Mechanics / Outfit team, and on Trident class Submarines, on various squads :- Hull Structure, Seat and Mountings, Outfit, Production Engineering Department.
