Designed and programmed a desktop system including email client, word processor, spreadsheet, database and 3 games for early education. Developed in Metrowerks C++, PowerPlant and Macromedia Director. Used numerous graphic tools for graphic design, interface sprites and illustrations.

Led user experience design for a product worked on by eight teams. Produced effective artifacts including wireframes, prototypes, flow diagrams, mind maps, and personae. Ran and analyzed usability tests, ethnographic studies, interviews and questionnaires. Designed, implemented and managed an in-house wiki. Ran seminars, taught dozens of classes in user experience, software testing, documentation techniques. Led a team to improve 1800 pages of documentation.

Ran an online bookstore with a stock of over 6,000 volumes specializing in political philosophy, biography, history, metaphysics and a modicum of literature. Built all web-accessible databases using Filemaker Pro for Windows. Built site interface to databases.

Tested international (Japanese) versions of Word (98) for Macintosh. Created test documents in all Office apps for integration with Word and word's HTML functionality. Wrote automated testing scripts in Visual Basic. Documented all testing apps and procedures using Microsoft Word. Teams were 5 to 7 testers as well as a group lead. Tested early version of OpenGL on the Macintosh with a team that had been writing GL drivers for earlier Macintosh OSs. Wrote OpenGL Engine testing programs in C and tested Quake 4 Arena.

Designed and coded (in C) the first version of TimeVision, scheduling software for the Macintosh. Wrote and designed the printed documentation for TimeVision using FrameMaker. Wrote a Desk Accessory for alarms and MDEFs for custom menus. Wrote online help to Apple Help Specifications.

Designed interfaces for exposing the Macintosh OS to assistive technologies. Designed and taught classes in relational database theory as it applied to Double Helix. Built all Double Helix training materials using FrameMaker and Microsoft Word.

Negotiated client-company conflicts by providing technical and design assistance on key projects. Built templates and prototypes using JAVA, HTML, Flash, and Director. The interface design team consisted of 7 designers and one group manager.

Created and taught an advanced visual communications programme on computer 3D design, photo manipulation, illustration. Taught a two-semester, six credit Macromedia Director and Shockwave class. The students in these classes represented a diverse group of students in ethnicity, age, and abilities.

Designed interfaces for exposing the Macintosh OS to assistive technologies. Designed the interface of and coded (C++) CoWriter, StoryTeller, KeNx and BigCalc (all Macintosh versions). Designed and programmed custom controls for scalable, shaded buttons that were used in all products. Wrote routines to act on UI elements Prototyped designs using Director and C.
