Kelley Morrell

Kelley Morrell is the Co-Founder of Firecracker Media Group, a private holding company in the media industry, along with her business partner and Co-Founder, Agnes Chu. Kelley is an investor and operating executive with a more than 20-year career and proven track record of delivering exceptional returns for investors in transformational situations across some of the most well-known businesses that are changing the way we live and work. Kelley previously served as the Chief Financial Officer reporting to CEO Marc Lore at Wonder Group where she led the company’s successful capital raising efforts; spearheaded the strategic acquisitions of Blue Apron, Relay, Grubhub, and Tastemade; and scaled the business through organic growth. Previously, Kelley was a Senior Managing Director at the Blackstone Group, where she led a global team across Blackstone’s private equity strategies, which was responsible for creating and driving value-added initiatives alongside the investment teams. While at Blackstone, she was involved with investments across multiple industries and business strategies including serving on the boards of, or in interim management roles for: Bumble, Peridot Financing, Spanx, Centric Brands, Lombard, and Trimark. She was also a co-chair of the global Blackstone Women’s Initiative. Earlier in her career, Kelley was the Chief Strategy Officer for CIT Group, spearheading its transformation to a bank holding company following its emergence from bankruptcy, and served in the Obama Administration, where she oversaw the taxpayers investments in Chrysler Group and Chrysler Financial. She started her career as an Associate at Hellman & Friedman where she was involved in the evaluation and execution of private equity transactions, and in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its Financial Institutions Group.
