Manage the Android development team for the ShopKeep point of sale application, which is used by paying merchants across the US. I've lead the effort from the original 1.0 release, to the latest builds. I am also the team scrum master, and contribute substantially to the code base. The application is written entirely in Kotlin, using many of the latest technologies. It is also fully covered with automated testing using Espresso and Appium. The team I lead consists of 10 developers and QA engineers, split between NY and Belfast.

Founding member in a start up company that eventually boasted over 100 employees, worldwide recognition as a leader in financial systems development, and is now owned by Thomson Reuters. Designed and developed the basic systems and network protocols that became the basis of every Digitrade system. Helped train over 20 new employees in the art of either creating dynamic web pages for trading systems, databasing the account information, or developing IVR systems for new companies.

Lead development efforts for new software startup. Responsibilities include software design - write new components and integration in Java and PHP - integrating with Salesforce.com and multiple vendors, architecture and development, environment setup and migration, and training new employees (both development and support). Use expertise in finance to help design new components for client base. In charge of security policies and backup procedures.

Managed major development initiatives across multiple groups within Thomson for larger clients, most notably Wachovia and Wells Fargo. Determined business requirements, communication protocols, and network and system design. Technical advisor for security and identity management. Created and implemented production installation plans - six month project plans to install, integrate, test, and promote systems to production. Created hiring requirements, interviewed, and hired business and technology experts to form US branch of Thomson Eximius, a Belgian based front office application maker owned by Thomson.

Managed 20 programmers including Development Managers, Technical Analysts, and QA. In charge of hiring and training new employees which included interviewing, testing, and giving the final say on new hires. Also, did employee appraisals and managed bonuses and raises. Worked with customers to construct development requirements, including system brokerage rules and formulas, identity management, and system security. Evaluated and redesigned system components for the middleware systems of Thomson Financial, including tickerplant data communications and exchange resolution.
