My primary role in this position was business development and the management of Tokyo operations. I was also responsible for expanding the technical solutions on offer from our company and to provide strategic consulting services to multinational clients.

Lead an agile team of business intelligence engineers responsible for engineering data collection, statistical modelling, and data distribution solutions. The team was directly embedded within the operations finance team in Tokyo Japan. We focused approximately half of our efforts on leading and implementing global solutions with the other 50% focusing on solutions for the JP market.

Combat Engineer & Military Unarmed Combat Instructor

I oversaw two departments; Corporate Services and Platform & Product Engineering. Corporate Services provided network, server and end user infrastructure support for back office systems and services. Platform & Product Engineering covered business intelligence, systems engineering, user experience, design, technical program management, and software engineering. This group was responsible for all customer facing experience, including merchant and retail customers. During my time at Groupon I introduced several Lean, and Agile practices, and dramatically modernised the engineering and product effort. Through this effort Groupon Japan was able to increase the quality of the customer experience whilst also increasing the velocity at which work was delivered. I really enjoyed my time with Groupon; the rest of the executive group, the teams I lead, the people, the culture, the vibe. Unfortunately due to family reasons it was time to move back to Australia, so my time at Groupon was cut short :-(

This degree was completed part time via distance education.

Activities and Societies: Represented CQU in the National University Games for Judo. Recipient of a Deans Letter of Commendation Golden Key Society Member

Spent an additional 2 years at Budai as a kenkyusei "research student". Also, whilst studying in Japan I was also remotely working on my Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) through CQU via distance education. Activities and Societies: Awarded a sporting scholarship for Judo
