Station Manager Incident Command
I worked within the Fire Service College (FSC) Incident Command team and for 2 years was course lead for the following: • ICF (Incident Command Foundation course) • ICF2e (assessable version of the ICF) • ICCWM (Incident Command course for Crew and Watch Managers) • 008e (Incident Command e learning package) • Incident Command for Network Rail As course lead I was responsible for the design, development, management and delivery of the above courses. During this time I was also involved with the development of the national standards for the new Incident Command BTEC qualifications. Following the successful introduction of these national standards I designed the original ICL 1 (Incident Command Level 1 course) for the FSC, aimed at supervisory level incident commanders. For my last year at the FSC I was part of the tactical incident command team and was responsible for the development, management, delivery and assessment of the following: • ICL 2 (Incident Command Level 2 course) aimed at tactical/silver level operational incident commanders • Silver level incident command training for private sector companies including o National Grid o British Telecom o British Petroleum o PERO • Bespoke incident command courses for UKFRS and non FRS organisations including overseas delegates Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS). 25 years experience including 10 years as Station Officer at the busiest Stations within TWFRS. 2 years as Divisional Training Officer responsible for: • Design and delivery of the divisional training programme • Key stage probationer assessment • Assessment and validation of operational watches • Design, delivery and assessment of Divisional, Service and Regional level exercises I was also lead MDI (Mass Decontamination Instructor) for TWFRS and as such was responsible for design and delivery of Mass Decontamination training and exercises at Service and regional level.
