During the day, serving food to customers was my main task. I made sure the customers were happy with their food and providing anything extra that pleased them. After customers I left, I cleared the tables and prepared them for the next customers. At night time I served alcoholic beverages, which at the weekends was hectic. I had to work til early morning. At the end of this shift I had to clean down all the tables, counters, floors and bathroom for the next days operations. I worked this job during the very busy Galway Races Festival.

Nearer the Christmas time I often stayed on late to make sure the job was done as good as possible.
