At the time TUSRIF was one of the largest direct investment fund in Russia. My responsibilities included sourcing new projects, analyzing and evaluating projects, presenting investment opportunities to the investment committee, conducting due diligence, preparing deal documentation and monitoring portfolio projects. Specifically, my industry focus included pharmaceutical distribution, brewing and printed packaging industries, fine porcelain production.

JSC “Stream-TV” is a pay TV and multimedia services operator with branches in over 30 Russian cities and audience of 1.5 million. It is wholly owned by AFK “Sistema”. I was responsible for the development of the company’s overall strategy as well as its M&A activity.

I worked on AMC’s Moscow investment team monitoring several investee companies. My task included helping portfolio companies draw budgets, and tracking their performance against the budget, evaluating their strategic plans and as well as assisting them in developing a growth strategy.

EIM was hired by Oppenheimer’s World Markets Hedge Fund to restructure its Russian portfolio of aerospace and defense industry enterprises after the economic crisis of 1998. My responsibilities included portfolio monitoring with the focus on protecting Opco’s shareholder’s rights, as well as negotiating with potential buyers of the shares and overseeing the resulting sale transactions. By the end of 2001 most of the original portfolio was sold.

JSC “Electro-com” (now a part of Transtelecom) owns and runs Broadband Internet operators (PLC technology) in Moscow, Rostov, Ryazan and Kaluga. I was responsible for the management of the existing operators (budgeting, performance evaluation, regional management motivation) as well as further regional expansion of the business.
