Katie Kersnick

I have been practicing photography for most of my life. I have experience in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Square Space, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Also, I am able to use social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Facebook Market Place, and Twitter. I am equipped with some knowledge on advertising as well. I know how to operate my Canon 70D & Sony Rx10 very well. I have experience working with the GoPro cameras and Olympus underwater. I enjoy taking engagement, surfers/ underwater, portraits, landscapes, animal, and nature photographs. I work well with black and white photography too.

I was an active member of Betty Boarders, an all girls surf club at SDSU! We learned important water safety skills and grew our group of getting more girls to surf!

I learned many valuable skills, listened to guest speakers, expanded my social network, and formed great connections in this club! I also gathered important knowledge on how to start your own businesses and use effective communication strategies when talking with investors, selling your product, and overall how to just be a professional business person.

I worked as a member of the Associated Students at SDSU's gym. I helped assist climbers, maintain safety, and create a positive athletic environment for students. Having over 6+ years of competitive rock climbing experience allowed me to share my knowledge and be an excellent Associated Students worker.

I worked as a part time surf instructor for Ventura Surf School. I helped teach kids and adults how to surf, the importance of water safety & the ocean, explain tides/ rip currents, and just how to have fun in the ocean while being safe! I worked in the Ventura Surf School summer camp and did private lessons as well. I am a strong swimmer, intermediate surfer, CPR/ AED certified, knowledgeable on first aid & how to handle dangerous situations, and am pool lifeguard certified.

I have experience working with food & beverages, handling food properly, great customer service, restocking supplies, being a leader, building teamwork, organizational skills, and working as a cashier. I learned lifelong skills (communication skills & operations of a business) as well as maintaining a clean environment.

I have experience tutoring children from elementary-6th grade primarily in English, Science, and Math. I helped motivate students to stay on task and achieve higher learning utilizing technology as well as textbooks.

I studied a semester at University of Technology Sydney (UTS) for my undergraduate in Business Marketing.

I have done Moorpark College classes since 9th grade at Oak Park High School. I have maintained a high GPA at Moorpark College in all of my classes I have taken.

I have completed close to 100 hours of community service throughout my high school years. I worked at My Stuffed Bags, For The Troops, and Feed the Homeless. I was in a medical program, VC Medical Explorer Post 911, for 2 years in high school.
