About

I graduated Valparaiso University with a BS Geology major and a minor in meteorology: I hope to use my education to pursue a successful career in the area of environmental climate change, hydrogeology, and/or geomorphology. At IUN, I was a founding member of the Geoscience Honor Society of Sigma Gamma Epsilon (Theta Omicron chapter), and I served as the chapter's President my senior year. I have previously worked on undergraduate research with one of my professors on atmospheric water impacts on the dunes of southern Lake Michigan. I presented our findings at GSA Seattle in October of 2017 and was awarded the National Council Best Poster Award from Sigma Gamma Epsilon National Honor Society for the Earth Sciences. I attended Western Michigan University as a student in the Summer II session of their Hydrogeology Field Camp and have already completed a 40-hour HAZWOPER course.

I was the sole caretaker for Luhr County Park. Responsibilities included cleaning and maintaining restrooms and outdoor shelters, as well as general maintenance of the park grounds, including: mowing, weed whipping, mulching and clearing trails, cutting and clearing trees and branches, clearing sticker bushes, and much more. Some group projects I participated in this summer includes building a shelter and ripping out the old pond spillway. Aside from Luhr Park, I maintain 3 of 4 parks on the weekends, which includes cleaning restrooms, removing trash, and any other projects that needed immediate attention.
