In retirement I keep up with the various segments of the archaeology world in my reading including the posts on LinkedIn. The rest of the time we travel or I paint ugly paintings in my well-stocked studio (garage). My husband makes beautiful frames for my ugly paintings . . . I guess he loves me!

Primary source research with a focus on maritime history, naval history and merchant shipping history. This was applied to the company's core work - deep water marine archaeology. Strongest skills include comprehensive report writing - writing and editing of academic papers - background research - artifact research - historic research: maritime/marine: British merchant and naval history - world history (c.1650-present) - paleography; databases; genealogy; organization of information; presentation of that information to upper management as well as off shore co-workers. Solid knowledge of AUVs and ROVs; ships throughout history to present day; navigation and search and recovery protocols. Led many shipwreck projects from research to recovery. Conducted all research, prepared massive reports, built huge dossiers of primary source materials. Backed up co-workers on their projects, monitoring their progress if necessary. Very detail oriented. Conducted research for 19 television documentaries for National Geographic, History Channel, Discovery Channel and PBS.

My 20th documentary (first feature length film) premiered in Detroit on June 17, 2015. I was responsible for gathering appropriate historic photographs, films, newspaper articles, radio sound tracks, etc. not only to visually enhance and lend credence to, but to support the premises set out in the documentary. https://www.thedkdoc.com/about-us Winner of the 2016 Jury Award for Best Documentary at both the Middlebury New Film Makers Festival and at the Austin Texas Black Film Festival. Additionally the film was the Audience Choice Award at the Anchorage International Film Festival and the Best Documentary at Lone Star Film Festival as well as a second Audience Choice Award from the Tall Grass Film Festival
