Providing practical and administrative support to the ebook team at Troubador Publishing's self-publishing imprint, Matador, and the Book Guild Ltd, as well as coordinating marketing services for ebook authors. I also worked as a desk editor for both companies, completing both copy edits and proof reads. Main duties: - Communicating via NetGalley and Cision databases in the creation of tailored email marketing campaigns. -Updating internal systems with new titles and disseminating data to retailers and suppliers. -Designing new Ebooks using Quark and later InDesign before converting them into secure epub files, ready for distribution. -Uploading new Ebooks to retailer sites. -Maintaining professional relationships with authors in order to produce the best product possible. -Completing corrective edits for both Matador and the Book Guild. Proof reads were completed on hard copy using BSI proof correction marks. Copy edits were completed on screen using Microsoft Word's track changes facility.

In this role I initially shadowed the club's treasurer in his duties. I developed a firm command of the HMRC online database and confidence in overseeing the deployment of each employee's wage.

This role required me to call recent graduates of the university of Leicester to find out whether they had found employment six months on from their graduation date. It was a temporary position that enabled me to improve my telephone communication skills and speak to a wide variety of people.

As a waitress, I had to be able to maintain focus and composure in a challenging environment. My role involved being able to quickly note down and calculate a customer’s order while maintaining a friendly, conversational attitude and similarly combat hostile customers whilst presenting myself as open, welcome and sympathetic.

As a Student Ambassador, I conduct campus and accomodation tours for the University of Leicester. This position has enabled me to develop a confident and friendly demeanour when interacting with the public. It has also developed my public speaking abilities in terms of presentations. I am a trained Student Life Talk ambassador and this requires that I give talks about student life to over 100 people at a time.
