Schlatter created and taught a Dialogue of Civilizations for Northeastern University, which encompased the creation of course material for two classes during an intensive summer semester to the Southern Chinese Cities of Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Macau. The summer semester is an immersive experience for students who attend class, conduct participatory research and present a final project to classmates. One class focused on comparative health care systems, and a second class on the culture, society and health Southern China's population.
