Mission Statement: The Software Development Student Projects Initiative provides students with an immersive educational experience where students actively participate on a software engineering team developing production-ready software applications, while providing the college with a means of creating specialized software to improve campus processes. Student programmers are expected to actively engage in the software engineering process for one full year. This will mean different things throughout the year; during the summer, student programmers will be designing (or redesigning) new systems; during the regular terms, student programmers will be maintaining and upgrading existing systems. All student programmers will be expected to work closely with customers (Berea College faculty and staff requesting these systems), form good programming and system administration habits, and develop teamwork, communications, and professionalism skills, to name a few. Continuing in same position for Student Labor 2018-2019.
