Growing up in a farming community in rural India, I witnessed firsthand how innovation in agriculture can transform livelihoods. That early insight became the foundation of a 25+ year global career spanning biotechnology R&D, strategic leadership, and sustainable food systems driven by one purpose: 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭. As a R&D leader, I’ve led breakthrough innovations at the intersection of biology, biotechnology, and global food security. From pioneering genetically engineered Bt eggplant at Mahyco which is commercially grown in Bangladesh- reduced pesticide use, increased crop yields, and advanced sustainable farming practices. At Syngenta, I progressed through senior R&D leadership roles, where I delivered market-ready innovations with quality and speed, high-throughput platforms screening leads/traits and used first-principles thinking to address complex problems in molecular stacks with more than 3 traits. My portfolio includes commercializing dual-mode of action insect resistance traits in molecular stack events to control corn rootworm in the U.S., 𝟏𝟎+ 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, winning Syngenta Science & Technology Team Awards in 2017 for cutting down stage progression timeline (6 years to 2.2 years) and co-edited a globally recognized reference book on gene expression technologies. As the Founder of 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐀𝐠𝐁𝐢𝐨 𝐋𝐋𝐂, I now advise startups, nonprofits, and global organizations on translating biotech R&D into scalable, climate-resilient solutions that serve both people and the planet. My work spans biotech, 𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬, and regulatory strategy bridging science, policy, and development.
