About
Karthik Venkatachalam is an Entrepreneur and International Relations scholar. After a career in Information Technology spanning over 16 years, he embraced entrepreneurship. Karthik is especially interested in solutions to societal challenges and has made contributions to the fields of financial inclusion, education, healthcare, environment, startup incubation and sustainable travel. Karthik has Master’s degrees in Computer Science and International Relations. He is well travelled and believes that the cookie-cutter approach to education in India does not equip its youth to take up challenges of a changing world head on. For India to keep its pole position among leading G20 economies as well as the champion of the rights of the Global South, India’s students must be prepared to lead in a world that is facing unprecedented geopolitical shifts towards a multipolar world order. He encourages students to take risks and follow a path less travelled, to volunteer and start up; to risk economic pain and choose long-term fulfilment over short-term monetary gains.

Submitted proposal for Biogas project in my alma mater – REC Trichy, which was implemented in 2016 - 17. 2. FinTech – Developed NFC (Near Field Communication) contactless card for cashless Tap and Pay; prototyped the solution for mom and pop shops and parking facilities.
