As a tenured counselor faculty member at CAPS, I provided high-quality mental health services to a diverse student population through short-term individual therapy, couples counseling, crisis intervention, and comprehensive case management. My clinical work drew from evidence-based modalities including CBT, ACT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing to address a wide spectrum of concerns—ranging from anxiety, depression, and trauma to neurodivergence, identity development, minority stress, and substance use. I facilitated multiple weekly therapy and support groups, including a 24-week men's support group, and led wellness-focused workshops on stress management, relationships, and emotional insight (e.g., RIO). As a key contributor to interdisciplinary teams, I offered specialized consultation on men’s issues and African American mental health. In addition to clinical services, I played a leadership role in training and supervision—providing primary supervision to doctoral trainees, reviewing recorded sessions, and facilitating bi-weekly case conferences. I also led a 14-week Social Justice and Outreach Training Seminar, equipping emerging clinicians with culturally responsive and equity-informed practices. Engaged in campus-wide outreach and consultation, I collaborated closely with faculty, administrators, and student organizations, and provided guidance during critical incidents and campus emergencies. My work consistently integrated a whole-person, inclusive approach to student wellbeing.

● Designed and implemented outreach programming consistent with student needs and the Division of Student Affairs strategic initiatives; measured learning outcome for outreach services. ● Managed data for outreach services and contributed to the assessment of outreach objectives for CAPS. ● Designed and implemented marketing strategies and other publicity related to CAPS activities, including content management of the center's web page and social media. ● Coordinated and streamlined online portal for campus community to request CAPS speakers and programming.

● Led the department training committee program to provide advance clinical experience to 6 doctoral level trainees: practicum students and pre-doctoral interns. ● Co-coordinated pre-doctoral intern selection committee and successfully filled 4 pre-doctoral intern positions for the 2013-14 academic year. ● Co-led weekly training seminar (e.g. coordinate presenters, provide training, supervise case presentations and case consultation). ● Conducted Team EPPP (Exam for Professional Practice in Psychology) Study group for postdoctoral residents. Met weekly to prepare for their exam; developed a weekly study schedule and assisted in navigating the state licensure process. ● Facilitated on boarding process for newly hired doctoral level trainees.

● Provided brief and long-term individual psychotherapy, couples treatment, assessment, and crisis counseling to diverse undergraduate and graduate students. ● Provided outreach and consultation services for a variety of campus organizations including the Office of Student Conduct, Equal Opportunity Program, and MOSAIC Center. ● Co-conducted a Healthy Relationships workshop series with an emphasis on respecting and embracing diversity. ● Member of the department training committee program to provide advance clinical experience to 6 doctoral level trainees: practicum students and pre-doctoral interns. Participated in practicum, pre-doctoral, and post-doctoral resident screening, interview, and selection process. ● Assisted with policy development and implementation of guidelines for counseling center and its employees. ● Participated in a bi-weekly diversity process group. ● Received advanced training on social justice and developing outreach services and programs that meets the needs of university counseling centers and the greater community. ● Provided secondary individual supervision to one advanced practicum trainee and informal supervision and support to doctoral level trainees. African American and Latino Male Student Retention Programming ● Collaborated with the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) in the establishment of “I Can, I Will” African American and Latino male student retention program. ● Trained assistants to conduct research assessing the needs and experiences of dropout students and develop promising EOP policies, programs, and practices using data collected. ● Co-led weekly support group and activities to help assistants develop self-identity, leadership, community responsibility, academic integrity, and professional character and skills. ● Recruited, selected, and provided supervision and mentoring to African American and Latino male student assistants.

● Provided brief and long-term individual psychotherapy, couples treatment, assessment, and crisis counseling to undergraduate and graduate students. Client’s primary concerns included anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders as well as ethnic and sexual identity conflicts, substance abuse, sexual trauma, and relationship and academic concerns. ● Co-facilitated quarterly interpersonal process group. ● Taught Intergroup Dialogues honors course for first year undergraduate students. ● Engaged with the wider university community through outreach activities, including planning and participating in activities aimed at improving the campus environment for students of color, educating parents with first-time students in college about expectations and transitions, and participating in training of Resident Life Staff. ● Provided consultation to University administrators, faculty, staff, and parents. ● Participated in biweekly didactic seminars covering specific clinical issues among college student population.

● Provided on-call crisis response, triage; brief and longer-term individual therapy; and case management services to youth detained in juvenile hall. ● Worked with culturally diverse adolescents who presented with Substance Abuse, Psychosis, Disruptive Behavior, Mood Disorders and Anxiety Disorders. ● Collaborated with psychiatrists, teachers, probation officers, institutional services managers, and housing staff to provide ample treatment and service needs. ● Conducted court-ordered assessments using standardized psychological testing tools, including BDI, MMPI-A, Rorschach, Thematic Apperception Test, and WAIS-IV, in addition to conducting thorough psychosocial interviews. ● Attended weekly didactic trainings covering topics such as Forensic Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Trauma, Abuse and LGBTQQIA Youth. ● Attended weekly psychological evaluation and motivational interviewing seminars. ● Presented and reviewed assessment cases in forensic team meetings.

● Provided intakes, brief and long-term therapy and crisis services for low- income children, adolescent and adult individuals, and families in a nonprofit mental health clinic who presented with an array of conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting issues, and developmental or situational stressors. ● Collaborated with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, and teachers to provide comprehensive treatment for clients. ● Utilized treatment interventions in play, art, and talk therapy including psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, and experiential approaches. ● Attended weekly individual and group supervision with a licensed psychologist. ● Presented cases and participated in weekly treatment team meetings. ● Managed MediCal paperwork, formulated diagnoses, and treatment plans in order to evaluate treatment outcomes and the need for further services. ● Co-led agency’s annual social justice workshop with at risk middle school youth.

● Behavioral Intervention Specialist in classroom of 18 children from ages 9 to 12 who struggle with behavioral problems as a result of adverse childhood experiences such as abuse, the loss of a loved one, or the stress of living in poverty or in neighborhoods or homes impacted by violence. ● Provided art and play therapy to help students develop ways to self-regulate their emotions and behaviors. ● Identified areas of difficulty, concern, and success in students’ treatment plans. ● Co-facilitated group activities that promoted self-regulation and strengthened social skills.
