Founded in 1895 as one of NYC's earliest settlement houses, Hudson Guild is a multi-service, multi-generational & multi-site community-based program serving 14,000 people annually with: day care & afterschool programs for ages 2 years through 5th grade; recreational, educational & vocational programming for tweens & teens; classes, special events, health screenings, social services & congregate meals for older adults; low-cost professional counseling; and community arts programs that include two art galleries and a theater. Based in Manhattan's Chelsea community, the Guild serves all but prioritizes services to those who live or work in its home neighborhood. Beyond providing a range of direct services, the Guild also serves as a "town square" in Chelsea. Numerous social and civic groups hold meetings or partner with the program to provide services at the Guild.
